Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! And thank you for being here. Let me fill you all in as to who I am and why I am writing a blog to begin with….

As it says in the “about me” section, I spent many years trying to fit in with society in a way which would later on break my mind, soul and body. Growing up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, I was exposed to all walks of life through my public school education at McCall, Masterman and the Philadelphia H.S. for Girls. While back in my own little neighborhood I could see the dilemma that change would need to overcome, in order to begin a new path of healing. I picked people to be friends with according to their spirit, not their looks, age, gender or even their cool factor, and when I did pick outside of spirit for relationships, it always blew up in my face. I embraced the differences and needs in people from the moment I left my mothers pant leg.

I ended up tearing a muscle in my back and having permanent nerve damage after working in a professional career, that lined the pocket of someone whom my soul couldn’t have been more opposed to. I loved working one on one with patients in dental hygiene, which was one of the reasons I gave up on going to pharmacy school as I had initially intended, but something was still missing. I would often spend more of the time with my patients listening to them talk about their lives and giving advice or leading them in a direction of where to get the best answers, than actually cleaning their teeth.

Everyone learns differently, so there are people you can advise directly and people that you have to lead to find their own way. I have faced challenges myself and struggled with boundaries because I gave more than I took, which resulted in a better stronger me. In retrospect, I think the injury was one of the best things that could ever happen to me. It brought me here to be who I was meant to be for this part of my journey. And it taught me all that I needed to know in order to do this to the best of my ability.

I came to know my relationships as an extension of my family, although temporary in each of the directions I have gone in, they have always unfolded into more than just a business or give-take relationship. I discern that it is my purpose in life to be a listener, a healer, a motivator, a speaker, the loud friend, “the Roxanne Show”, and so much more. Finding a place for all of that to come together is the purpose of the blog. While I could just send out my friends a text everyday to encourage, support and motivate them, I thought, why not just put it down in one place?

So welcome to the blog. Life and love assistance to teach, mentor and support those that I loved, love and will come to love in time. And welcome to my family.
